Eternal Haunted Summer

The 2026 Summer Solstice issue of Eternal Haunted Summer is dedicated to short poetry and flash fiction, so my essay explores the beauty of small things in art, nature, and spirituality. The phrase Multum in Parvo, which means "much in a little," is also a key saying in my Gothic historical romance Sea and Stars. 

Once Upon a Bard: Shakespeare's Good Neighbors is my first of four recurring columns featured in Eternal Haunted Summer and can be found in the 2025 Winter Solstice Good Neighbors Issue. It explores my love for Shakespeare's fairies., especially Queen Mab from Romeo and Juliet and the fairies from A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Editor-in-Chief of Eternal Haunted Summer Rebecca Buchanan was kind enough to interview me about selkie folklore and writing inspiration to celebrate the release of my debut novel Selkie Moon. The interview was published in the 2025 Summer Solstice Music issue, and listening to Selkie music was an important part of my writing process when drafting Selkie Moon.

Parsley, a short story which explores themes of sin and forgiveness in variants of Rapunzel, appeared in the 2024 Summer Solstice Garden Issue of Eternal Haunted Summer. 

The Quickening, my poem about the birth process of a poet, was featured in Eternal Haunted Summer's 2023 Summer Solstice Genesis Issue. 

The Garden of Evening, a poem about the Hesperides from Greek mythology, can be found in both the 2022 Summer Solstice Other-than-Human-Realms issue and in the book The Best of Eternal Haunted Summer. 

The Mistress of the House of Books, a poem about Seshat, the Egyptian goddess of writing and wisdom, was featured in the 2021 Written Word Summer Solstice Issue of Eternal haunted Summer.
